The MNBC Ministry of Employment and Training operates a number of key programs and services throughout British Columbia. Our ministry staff are located in our Surrey headquarters and seven regional offices across the province.
Our mandate is to help improve the employment potential, earning capacity and self-sufficiency of Métis people in British Columbia. We do this by delivering three key programs which are listed below.
If you are a Métis citizen or self-identified Métis you may be eligible to participate in one of our programs listed below.
Métis Employment and Training Program
The Métis Nation British Columbia administers the Métis Employment & Training Program (METP) to improve the employment potential, earning capacity and self-sufficiency of Métis people in British Columbia. Employment and Training delivers; The Indigenous Skills Employment Training Program (ISETP) funded by the Federal Government of Canada.
METP operates seven regional offices to serve the Métis people throughout the Province of British Columbia. Programs that exceed one year in length can only be approved on an annual basis (one year), and then reviewed for further support for each subsequent year of a program. Established policies and procedures will guide decisions and ensure accountability. Contact us today!

Post secondary education supports Program
If you are Métis and are interested in obtaining support to attend a post-secondary institution in B.C., regardless of the type of program (undergraduate, graduate, professional) please reach out to your regional employment & training office today for more information! We may be able to provide you with the assistance you need.
Our post-secondary education program is sponsored by the Government of Canada and administered by Métis Nation British Columbia.

SITÉM is delivered to eligible Métis citizens across the Province of the British Columbia through Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC).
This unique program provides skills training and support programs to Métis citizens located in one of our 38 chartered Métis communities located across the province.
The training is strategically designed to best meet communities’ regional demands and focuses on in-demand jobs.
SITÉM will provide employment assistance services, financial supports which enable program participation as well as direct employment experience.
