Métis Nation BC is a self-governing organization complete with its own constitution, senate and legislative acts. All legislation can be seen below.
MNBC 2021 AGM Resolutions
- Resolution 1: Natural Resources Act – Housekeeping and Updates
- AMENDED RESOLUTION
Update language in the Natural Resources Act to reflect current conditions, and to correct errors within the Act.
- Resolution 2: Speaker of the MNGA
Resolutions will require the Speaker of the MNGA to be a MNBC Citizen.
- Resolution 3: MYBC Elected Offices Terms
Amend the MNBC Youth Act to have all Regional Youth Representatives elected for a four-year term.
- Resolution 4: Time Frame for Senate Appeals and Dispute Resolution Applications
Amend the Senate Act to add a defined time frame for MNBC Citizens to apply for an appeal, where time frames are not currently existing in legislation.
- Resolution 5: MNBC Constitution – MNGA/AGM Timelines
Allow for flexibility in legislative requirements around the MNGA and AGM, while also requiring that a MNGA and AGM be held in each calendar year.
- Resolution 6: MNBC Constitution – Amending Formula
Insert section “Amendment” in the MNBC Constitution that clearly states the amending formula of the Constitution.
