About the Opportunity:

As a Finance Projects & Process Specialist at CLBC, you will be responsible for advancing finance systems projects and other process improvement initiatives through all phases, including envisioning, planning, execution, reporting, and implementation. With a hands-on, process-oriented approach, you will provide client service to Finance leaders by focusing on planning and executing finance systems projects, driving continuous improvement, promoting change management, and conducting research and analysis activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Leads the integration of new finance systems and modules on behalf of the Finance department, including designing processes, defining requirements, performing user acceptance testing, developing training material and communications, and assessing enhancement and reporting requests
Conducts in-depth research and analysis to explore and evaluate potential options for systems design changes relating to the Finance department
Leads the day-to-day execution of finance projects, employing full-cycle project practices
Leads the identification of process inefficiencies and barriers to implementation, performing workflow and process redesign to develop effective solutions that align with overarching Finance objectives
Conducts in-depth analyses of existing finance processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks and areas for enhancement, and uses data-driven methods to develop actionable recommendations for improvement of efficiencies, including automation
Translates high-level financial objectives into actionable process requirements by applying a solid understanding of financial principles, and accounting standards
What you will bring:

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Quality Management, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in a project execution and/or business process improvement role, ideally within a Finance department
Direct experience with the design, development, testing, and implementation of finance systems
Direct experience applying project management principles and driving financial projects forward from planning through to completion
Project Management Certification (PMP) or a Lean Six Sigma Certification is highly desirable
Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) is an asset
Experience in a public sector organization is an asset

Skilled in delivering effective presentations to various audiences with an ability to clearly relay the vision for projects and process improvement activities
