About the Opportunity
The Director, Programs and Operations for the Ministry of Skills Training, Employment and Post-Secondary leads and supports MNBC’s mandate and vision for employment and training programming, initiatives, and services for Métis people to achieve their educational and career aspirations. The Director oversees the implementation and management of programs and projects in alignment with MNBC's mandate and budget guidelines, along with identifying opportunities for new program development and collaboration. Additionally, the Director of Programs and Operations provides support to MNBC regional offices, ensuring they receive appropriate services, implements performance metrics for education, and ensures financial integrity by monitoring expenditures and adhering to MNBC's financial policies. The Director of Programs and Operations, oversees day-to-day operations of the Ministry’s regional staff/offices, applies MNBC policies and safety standards, contributes to program planning, keeps the Executive Director informed, and involves travel to regional offices. Furthermore, the role focuses on innovation through digitization strategies to enhance services and interactions for citizens and Métis individuals.
This Director, Programs and Operations, supervises the Regional Program Managers and Provincial Cohort Manager, across the province to ensure the terms of funding contracts and agreements for all programs, projects, and initiatives, as well as the goals and objectives of MNBC, are met. The Director may also be required to represent MNBC in negotiations and collaborations with governments, Métis Chartered Communities, education institutes, Indigenous organizations, and other stakeholders, in the absence of the Executive Director or designate.
