As an urban delegated Indigenous Child & Family Service Agency, SCCFS is committed to providing child and family services strongly rooted in Indigenous cultural values and world views while ensuring urban Indigenous children and youth grow up connected to family, community, and culture.

SCCFS receives its delegation through the Provincial Director of Child Welfare, who gives the agency the authority to undertake administration of parts of the Child, Family and Community Service Act (CFCSA). Under its current delegation agreement, Surrounded by Cedar administers C3 (Voluntary Services) and C4 services (Guardianship).

• Fulfill a dynamic role responsible for providing a range of administrative support to the agency’s delegated practitioners while backing up the Front Desk.
• Step into your hosting skills by ensuring a warm and welcoming environment for all visitors.
• Showcase your organizational talents while maintaining accurate and up-to-date filing systems.
• Utilize your well-developed Microsoft Office skillset while learning to use a range of information management and payment systems.

What You Will Bring to This Role:
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; some post-secondary education with an administrative focus; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in office administration, preferably in a social service-related organization.
• Experience working within an Indigenous or child well-being organization is considered an asset.
• A satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
• A passion for supporting urban Indigenous children and youth in care, and young adults
• Excellent time-management skills
• Your excitement to work independently, as part of a team and with the whole organization
• Steller organizational, file management and data entry skills

Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in the climate-controlled offices of SCCFS. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You may be required to occasionally lift or move equipment and boxes up to 50 pounds. Some cleaning duties are required.
