Energy Conservation Assistance Program
Make your home more comfortable, safe and energy efficient with free advice, free installation of energy-saving products, and free upgrades for Métis Nation British Columbia citizens as part of FortisBC’s Energy Conservation Assistance Program.
You’ll work with an energy coach who will review your home’s energy use, show you some simple ways to improve its energy efficiency and identify potential upgrades to be installed alongside the Ma Nîķi Home Renovations Program.
Then, you’ll receive energy-saving products, such as:
- LED light bulbs
- Kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators
- Water-efficient showerheads
- Exterior door weatherstripping
- Clothes drying rack or clothesline
Carbon monoxide alarms may be installed as a safety upgrade in homes with fuel-burning appliances. Some homes may also qualify for an ENERGY STAR® certified refrigerator, insulation, or an electric heat pump.
Every home is different, and your energy coach will help determine which upgrades your home is eligible for. Additional visits may be needed to install some equipment.
Your energy coach will show you other ways to save and how to get the most from your new upgrades, so you can keep saving energy long after they’re installed.
Condos & Apartments are not currently eligible.
MNBC is also collaborating with FortisBC to bring you:
