Introduction

Métis Women of British Columbia Mandate:

The Métis Women of British Columbia are focused on empowering Métis Women to fulfill their potentials in all aspects of their lives: physical health and well-being, cultural connection, community involvement, family well-being, education, and economic security. The Métis Women of British Columbia are entrusted to enhance and empower the rights of Métis Women and to ensure that Métis Women's voices and political representation are prioritized at the community, regional, provincial and national level.

Métis Women of British Columbia Guiding Objectives and Principles:

The Métis Women of British Columbia promote: Métis culture, language and traditions, nurturing healthy families and communities through sustaining a healthy lifestyle, respecting the diversity and uniqueness of all Métis people, honoring our elders and valuing their traditional knowledge and cultural values in managing and preserving our natural resources for future generations.

The Métis Women of British Columbia will provide, whenever possible, supportive and culturally relevant programs as identified within the Métis community. The Métis Women of British Columbia welcomes the participation and involvement of Métis Women. The Métis Women of British Columbia will strive to address issues in a manner, which reflects the changing needs of the Métis women in BC, and be aware of the diversity between these needs in urban and rural communities.

Métis Women Of British Columbia Standard Of Care

The Métis Women of British Columbia ("MWBC") upholds the MNBC Constitution and is guided by the Métis Nation British Columbia Organizational policies with respect to administrative and financial procedures. The Métis Women of British Columbia are guided by Métis traditional knowledge, cultural and family values in their activities. The Métis Women of British Columbia commit to utilizing culturally-based resolution processes for addressing conflict or inappropriate behavior.
